Wheelers Edge Armadillos, 4-3
|
The Amarillo Armadillos got a superb performance from pitcher Matt Hunter, but the Anchorage Wheelers still won the game, 4-3. Hunter threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Anchorage reliever Reed Rothchild picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. Garlic Bread shouldered the loss. The save went to Highdrah Coneis, his 1st this season.
Anchorage took a 4-3 lead on Jackson Love's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Love hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Amarillo pitcher Wayne Finch Summers shaking his head.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Love told the Anchorage Herald.
Anchorage bumps their record to 34-45 with the win.
