Bears Best Flamingos in Pitching Duel
|
Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House was the site of a tense game between the Florida Flamingos and Brew City Bears.
The Brew City Bears went home winners at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House, thanks in large part to starter Masahiro Sato. Sato stifled the Florida Flamingos, enabling Brew City to grab the 2-1 win. In 8 innings, Sato surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. "Fire" Aaron Boone was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 24 save opportunities.
Jared Keeso took Florida hurler Stetson Mixon deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Bears on top, 2-0. In all, Keeso had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 2.
Sato said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Brew City now has a record of 48-36 with the win.
