The standout performance belonged to Kansas City pitcher and LaPlace, Louisiana, native Anthony Stover. Stover picked up the win for Kansas City, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. Les Skoden had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Kansas City. He came through with a solo home run to put Kansas City in front, 4-2.
