Anchorage Falters Again, Loses, 5-2, to California
|
Due in large part to center fielder Ashton Fox, the California Firehawks sunk the Anchorage Wheelers, 5-2. Fox went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ingrid Keelhauler, who is tied for 6th in the MiLPBE in wins with 9, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts. Anchorage now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
The Firehawks had to work out of trouble in the top of the seventh. The score was 5-2, California, with one out. Anchorage, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Kilian De Blou dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he struck out.
