The Wheelers grabbed a win, 6-1, at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from State College pitcher Tim Infinity. Infinity went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Willie MacDougal got the win, improving to 6-8. He held the Swift Steeds to 1 run on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Anchorage occupies last place in the West Division at 37-51.

The Wheelers got an important contribution from right fielder Speedy Gonzalez, who in the top of the fourth knocked a 1-0 slider into right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Wheelers ahead, 3-1.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gonzalez.
