Swift Steeds Prevail, 3-1, Over Brew City
|
The State College Swift Steeds locked up a win at Taylor Swift is Hard Mid Eras Tour 2.0, knocking off the Brew City Bears, 3-1. On the mound for State College was left-hander Derek Kirkland. He played a major role in the triumph. Kirkland got the win, improving to 9-12. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Earning his 9th save of the year was Lisa Crockett.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Lisa Crockett didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Brew City trailing 2-0, Crockett retired Swiffer Sweeper to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Crockett, with a wink.
State College is now 47-51, while Brew City is 50-48.
