The Kansas City Hepcats topped the California Firehawks by the score of 7-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Gnome Child. Child slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Hepcats on the day. The Hepcats lead the West Division by 6½ games.
