Florida Decked, 8-3, by Hepcats
|
The Kansas City Hepcats defeated the Florida Flamingos, 8-3. Shortstop Niklavs Stavinskis deserved a large share of the credit. Stavinskis was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 for the Hepcats. The victory gives Kansas City a record of 50-48.
The Flamingos had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Hepcats going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Red Panda came to the plate. Panda hit a 3-run home run on a 1-0 curveball from Florida hurler Tugg Boat. It was Panda's 2nd home run of the year.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Panda. "It sure beats the alternative."
