Swift Steeds Need Extras to Top Lemurs, Lead 2-1 in Series
Louisville Lemurs manager took a gamble on 20-year-old starter Nina Alexejeva. It paid off, but, unfortunately for the Lemurs, little else did.

Despite getting a poised performance from the young left-hander, the Lemurs lost 4-3 to the State College Swift Steeds at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium today. With the win, State College took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 First Round.

State College used the timely hitting of Diego Ramieriez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Swift Steeds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said State College manager . "It's usually not just one thing."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium in Providence.
