With shortstop Dan Thunder leading the charge, the Florida Flamingos got a road win over the California Firehawks, 9-3, in Game 2 of the First Round. Thunder went 1 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons to help Florida take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
A key moment came with one out in the top of the second. That's when Thunder hit a slider from Ingrid Keelhauler for a grand slam home run, putting Florida up, 5-0.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Thunder.
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 20th , 2079 at Florida Man Park in Providence.
