Florida Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win
|
A clutch 9th inning gave the Florida Flamingos a walk-off win over the Kansas City Hepcats and a 1-0 lead in the First Round at Florida Man Park. Young designated hitter Esteban Santos Garcia, 24, earned kudos after he went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Santos Garcia hit a screwball from Elijah Miller for a solo home run. The Flamingos, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Santos Garcia attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Man Park in Providence.
