Almost There: Brew City On Cusp of SF Triumph After 2-1 Win
|
The Brew City Bears moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the visiting Louisville Lemurs at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House by a score of 2-1. Bears right-hander Professor Croakwell had a strong outing in which he threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 runs. The win gives the Bears a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Semi-FInals.
Had Melo Misteur not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Misteur hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Bears.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Misteur.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House in Providence.
