Florida Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in SF
|
The Florida Flamingos got a strong performance from pitcher Tugg Boat, who stymied the Brew City offense en route to a 3-1 win in Game 3 of the Semi-FInals. The Bears could never get a bead on the left-handed Boat, who threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The Flamingos now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.
Boat, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, was dealing all game. He kept Brew City hitters off-balance, while giving the Flamingos 8 quality innings. Boat threw 95 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 4.
Florida manager said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Florida Man Park in Providence.
