Child Blasts Bears, Hepcats Take Game 2, 7-4
|
Kansas City third baseman Gnome Child was the difference-maker for the Hepcats in what turned into a shootout with the Brew City Bears. Child earned accolades after going 2-for-4 in the 7-4 Hepcats win. With the victory, the Hepcats moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Kansas City used a well-timed hit by Les Skoden to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hepcats ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Child told the Kansas City Observer.
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 8th , 2069 at The Evil Dictator x Jose Forty-Three Best Friendship Ballpark in Providence.
