Bears Slap 6-2 Loss on Anchorage
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Brew City Bears were eager to watch Maru Zensky square off against Pickle Riedemann of the visiting Anchorage Wheelers. In the end, the Bears won the game, 6-2, with Calvin O'Shanassy leading the way. Brew City starter Maru Zensky was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Smokey Schlitz [BOT] earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
O'Shanassy had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch curveball from Pickle Riedemann, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Bears a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for O'Shanassy.
"I really like what we did out there today," O'Shanassy said after the game.
