Kingpins Handle California, Snag 7-5 Win
Chicago took on California in front of a lively crowd.

The California Firehawks could not turn a fine performance from catcher Ivagotta Dumper into a win. Instead, the Chicago Kingpins prevailed, 7-5. Dumper went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Avery Time picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-0.

Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Sparky Dee to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Kingpins ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Dee.

The loss drops the Firehawks to 3-2.
