The Anchorage Wheelers overcame a good performance by Puerto Rico left fielder Cai Brummer to knock off Puerto Rico, 9-7, at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium. Brummer was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Rawburt Grimes [BOT], his 1st. With the loss, Puerto Rico drops to 4-4.

Robin Banks was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 4 runs for Anchorage. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ranto Mune [BOT]. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Banks, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
