Kansas City Dealt 4-3 Defeat
|
The Chicago Kingpins picked up a win at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium, topping the Kansas City Hepcats, 4-3. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Avery Time. He played a principal role in the triumph. Vin Vonvanovitch got the save, the 1st for him this season. The loss puts Kansas City at 6-3.
Corey Wilson had a big run-scoring double for the Kingpins in the bottom of the third inning. With Chicago leading 3-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Buster and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kingpins ahead, 4-0.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Time told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
