The Brew City Bears weathered an outstanding game by Anchorage center fielder Myles Meredith to topple the Wheelers, 6-5. Meredith belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Yogi Budweiser earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 1-0. The win takes Brew City to 4-6.
J.B. Rainier, the Brew City first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 6-5, Bears. For the game, Rainier went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Rainier told a Brew City Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
