Puerto Rico designated hitter Daddy Blaney [BOT] was sensational. He hit 2 home runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Amarillo beat the Ranas, 6-5, in 11 innings. Oil Can Sampson picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jerry Berry [BOT] suffered the loss. The Ranas, now 0-12, continue their slow start.

The Armadillos got a clutch hit from second baseman Mortimer Dog. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Armadillos.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Dog told the Amarillo News. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
