A 3-RBI performance from designated hitter Gibson Doubleneck led the Kansas City Hepcats to a win over the State College Swift Steeds , 13-7. The win belongs to Dennis Martinez in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Tim Infinity took the loss for State College.

Had Ford Lincoln-Mercury not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Lincoln-Mercury hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Hepcats.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Doubleneck told the Kansas City Observer.

Kansas City goes to 12-3.
