Losing Trend Continues for Florida
The Anchorage Wheelers defeated the Florida Flamingos, 7-6, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. Anchorage was led by 22-year old shortstop Slime Sluggerton, who went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The save went to George Fantobens, number 3 for him. Florida drops to 6-9.

Sluggerton contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Anchorage in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-3, Sluggerton took a knuckle curve from Doc Rock and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Wheelers to leap in front, 6-5.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Anchorage manager .
