State College and Puerto Rico got after it at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium.
The State College Swift Steeds got a stellar effort from pitcher Antonio Abner, helping State College score a win over the visiting Puerto Rico Ranas, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Abner, now 3-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The save went to Shaq Itoff, number 1 for him.
Adam Confused, the State College first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 2-1, Swift Steeds . For the game, Confused was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Confused.
The Ranas, now 2-14, continue their sluggish start.
