The Anchorage Wheelers beat the Puerto Rico Ranas by a score of 7-4. Anchorage first baseman Enrique Checo deserved the lion's share of the credit. Checo was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Wheelers. Anchorage, now 11-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Checo had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch screwball from Kerr Mitt [BOT], he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Wheelers a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Checo.

"Enrique is still learning," said Wheelers manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
