In a low-scoring affair between the California Firehawks and the Kansas City Hepcats, pitcher David Sears was the difference between victory and defeat. The California right-hander earned kudos in the 3-1 Firehawks win. Jensen Wild, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. The win puts California at 11-6.

California first baseman Dwaal Ing helped the Firehawks go up, 3-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Ing hit a 2-run single off Kansas City pitcher Matthew Murdock.
