Behind an impressive start by Jiggs Kingman, Anchorage beat Florida, 3-2. Anchorage reliever George Fantobens picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jimmy Key-Largo [BOT] was tagged with the loss. Florida is 12-6 after the loss.

Slime Sluggerton was the walk-off hero for Anchorage. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wheelers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sluggerton told the Anchorage Chronicle.
