Wheelers Topple Ranas, 5-3, as Williams Shines
Behind the hitting of Ashley Joanna Williams, the Anchorage Wheelers stopped the Puerto Rico Ranas, 5-3. Williams went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Wheelers. Anchorage reliever Rawburt Grimes picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Saul Goodman shouldered the loss. The Ranas fall to 8-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Williams had a timely hit for Anchorage in the bottom of the seventh. With Puerto Rico trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Anchorage.

"Enjoyed this one," Williams told the Anchorage News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
