Swift Steeds Beat Visiting Ranas, 2-1
|
The Puerto Rico Ranas got a superb performance from pitcher Muffin Heeler, but the State College Swift Steeds still won the game, 2-1. Heeler threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Earning his 4th save of the year was Lisa Crockett. The Ranas drop to 7-12, as their fitful start to the 2080 campaign continues.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Swift Steeds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Faye Tafo-Felia hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Muffin Heeler and made the score 2-1, Swift Steeds . Tafo-Felia went 1 for 4.
