Firehawks Lose, 5-3

The Anchorage Wheelers picked up a win at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons, downing the California Firehawks, 5-3. On the mound for Anchorage was left-hander Ivy Nurple, who played a pivotal role in the win. Picking up the save was Greg Buse, his 2nd. Anchorage goes to 13-6 with the win.
In the bottom of the ninth, Rusty Menard stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Firehawks were trailing 5-3, but had the bases loaded. That's when Greg Buse made a terrific pitch and Menard flied out. Gone was the dream of a California comeback.
