Firehawks Pocket 6-2 Win Against Florida
|
California Firehawks starter Massive Unit pitched a strong game against the Florida Flamingos at Florida Man Park, leading the Firehawks to victory, 6-2. The winning pitcher was Unit, now 2-1. He tossed 8.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The Firehawks improved their record to 13-10 by beating Florida.
California third baseman Rusty Menard contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a circle change to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the Firehawks ahead, 4-2.
California manager called it "a darn good win."
