Amarillo Absorbs 4-1 Loss to Chicago
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Chicago-Amarillo ballgame.
The Chicago Kingpins picked up a win at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium, knocking off the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-1. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Felix Burgous. He played a key role in the triumph. Checo Perez [BOT] picked up the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the year.
Showtime Jones went 1 for 4 for Chicago. The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Crabtin Crunch Jr.. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"Felix was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Chicago manager .
By defeating Amarillo, the second-place Kingpins improved to 16-13.
