Hepcats Rally Late to Nip Armadillos

The Kansas City Hepcats had to overcome a fine effort from Amarillo pitcher VJ Edgecombe to win, 3-2, in 11 innings at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites. Edgecombe went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. At 17-13, the Hepcats find themselves in third place in the West Division.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jacopo Reddick? The 22-year old catcher Reddick stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Kansas City up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"They tested our mettle," said Reddick. "But that's good. It toughens us up."
