Kroker, Hepcats Too Much for Swift Steeds
At Center for Kansas City Kids That Can't Read Good, the State College Swift Steeds and Kansas City Hepcats were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Kansas City Hepcats topped the State College Swift Steeds , 9-7, with youngster Kif Kroker playing a key role. Kroker was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Hepcats in the win. Kansas City reliever Silver Tarandus picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Valente Martinez absorbed the loss.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Kroker delivered big-time for Kansas City, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Valente Martinez. The game-changing hit put the Hepcats on top, 8-7.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Kroker.

Kansas City is now 14-17.
