Hepcats Beat Armadillos, 4-1
|
The Kansas City Hepcats picked up a win at The Merchant Burrow, knocking off the Amarillo Armadillos, 4-1. Starting pitcher Mike Boss III played a key role in the triumph. Boss III, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Earning his 8th save of the year was Thorne Belfour.
Kansas City used the clutch hitting of Feka Ohi Kau to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Hepcats the lead, 1-0. For the game, Kau had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Boss III said, "and we're having fun right now."
The win gives Kansas City a season record of 21-13.
