The home crowd had a good time watching the State College Swift Steeds and California Firehawks get after it.
The California Firehawks defeated the State College Swift Steeds , 8-3, at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. California first baseman Woop Woop had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Picking up the save was David Sears, his 2nd.
California left fielder Maverick Tonyon delivered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. Overall, he went 3 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 3.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Woop told the California Times.
California is 17-19 and State College, with the loss, 19-17.
