Florida turned a good performance from starting pitcher Moe Mentum into a 2-1 triumph over the Amarillo Armadillos at Florida Man Park. The win for the Flamingos lifted their record to 23-16.
Had Homer Simpson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Simpson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Flamingos.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Amarillo manager .
