The State College Swift Steeds picked up a win at Taylor Swift is Hard Mid Eras Tour 2.0, downing the California Firehawks, 8-4. On the mound for State College was left-hander Derek Kirkland, who played a pivotal role in the win. Kirkland, now 3-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Cass Silskrumblin earned the save, his 8th.

Jaheem Butler had a big 3-run home run for the Swift Steeds in the bottom of the sixth inning. With State College leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from fireballing right-hander Dylan Woods and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Swift Steeds on top, 4-0.

"Solid performance from our side," said Swift Steeds manager .

State College now owns a record of 22-17.
