Wellerman Jr. Leads Firehawks to Win
|
Bradley Wellerman Jr. was a major contributor to the 5-3 California win over Brew City. The Firehawks shortstop was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Crabby Pebbles got the win, improving to 3-5. He held the Bears to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. California has now won 6 in a row.
With California leading 2-0 in the top of the fourth, Wellerman Jr. hit a fastball from Ryan Express for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Firehawks ahead, 4-0.
