Win Lifts Swift Steeds to 30-26
|
The State College Swift Steeds overcame a pretty good performance by Florida left fielder McScootie Fortune, beating the Flamingos, 10-5, at Taylor Swift is Hard Mid Eras Tour 2.0. Fortune went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 20-year old left-handed pitcher Bug Chingus. He tossed 91 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. Joshua Homme III Esquire Limited got the save, the 9th for him this season.
State College designated hitter Turd Ferguson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a screwball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 61st hit of the season and put the Swift Steeds ahead, 2-1.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ferguson.
State College is 30-26 and Florida, with the loss, 33-23.
