Swift Steeds Tag Armadillos with 5-3 Loss
|
State College beat Amarillo on the strength of starter Antonio Abner's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Billy Jones picked up the save for State College, his 2nd of the year. State College now has a record of 28-28 with the win.
State College relied on the hitting of Matthew T. Braun to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Swift Steeds on top, 3-0. For the game, Braun had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Abner.
