Kingpins Squelch Bears Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Chicago Kingpins topped the Brew City Bears, 4-0, with youngster Lawn Gnomes playing a key role. Gnomes was 2-3 with a home run for the Kingpins in the win. The winner was Chicago reliever Mitch Goatbisky, now 6-2. The loser was Joe Kelly. At 30-31, the Kingpins find themselves in third place in the East Division.
The Kingpins got a big at-bat from center fielder Bob Honkbal. For the game, Honkbal was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
