Swift Steeds Deal Wheelers 12-8 Loss
The State College Swift Steeds and Anchorage Wheelers put on quite a show.

The State College Swift Steeds beat the Anchorage Wheelers, 12-8, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo. The Swift Steeds got a fine performance from right fielder Romain Gauthier, who was 3 for 7 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The slumping Wheelers have lost 9 straight.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 14th, until Gauthier delivered big-time for State College, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Kip Treadwell. The game-changing hit put the Swift Steeds on top, 9-8.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Gauthier.
