Flamingos Lose at Home, 4-2
|
The California Firehawks and Florida Flamingos completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The California Firehawks racked up a win at Florida Man Park, bumping off the Florida Flamingos, 4-2. Yong-woo Jun, who started for California, pitched effectively for his team. Jun, now 8-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Anthony De Luca picked up the save for California, his 6th of the year.
California used the hitting of Rusty Menard to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Firehawks on top, 3-1. For the game, Menard had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Jun. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The Firehawks improved their record to 33-30 by beating Florida.
