Hepcats Drop 1-0 Decision to Bears
|
The Brew City Bears had to overcome a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher DefinitelyNot EvilDictator to win, 1-0, at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. EvilDictator went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Shota Takahashi got the win, improving to 6-4. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Jack Dupp wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Bears had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when second baseman Vumion Stitcherson hit a run-scoring single. The single came off DefinitelyNot EvilDictator and made the score 1-0, Bears. Stitcherson went 1 for 3.
"Winning never gets dull," said Stitcherson.
The Bears lead the West Division by 2 games.
