Vlková Hits Two Homers in 9-3 Win for Amarillo
|
The Amarillo Armadillos pinned a convincing loss on the California Firehawks, 9-3, at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. Kveta Vlková was a main factor in the win. He belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for Amarillo. The winner was Marsh Mellow Jr., who threw 95 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Amarillo is now 37-33, while California is 35-35.
Vlková had a key at-bat for Amarillo in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and gave Amarillo an early 2-0 lead.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Vlková.
