5-3 Win for Louisville Over Kansas City
|
Center for Kansas City Kids That Can't Read Good was the site of a competitive game between the Kansas City Hepcats and Louisville Lemurs.
Ozzie Robinson was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Kansas City Hepcats. The right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Louisville Lemurs. The winning pitcher was Shohei Onetani. His record now stands at 7-5. The left-hander went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits for the Lemurs. Pim Pimling earned his 9th save, after closing out the game.
With Louisville leading 3-1 in the top of the sixth, Robinson hit a run-scoring single off Kansas City hurler Matthew Murdock. It was the 100th hit of the season for Robinson and put his team ahead, 4-1.
Louisville manager was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
The Lemurs sit in 4th place in the East Division with a record of 35-37.
