Swift Steeds Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Kansas City Hepcats got a superb performance from pitcher Anthony Stover. Still, it wasn't enough to beat State College. The Swift Steeds won the game, 4-2. Stover threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Jackson Ramirez got the win, improving to 7-8. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Swift Steeds .
State College used the timely hitting of Diego Ramieriez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Swift Steeds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, State College manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
