Firehawks End Bailey III's Streak Monday, August 21st , 2062 It was the best of both worlds for the California Firehawks today at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons, as they defeated the Anchorage Wheelers 4-2 and also snapped Cam'Ron Bailey III's 20-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Anchorage left fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Bailey III, we just wanted to win the game," said Firehawks skipper . "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Bailey III frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." So far this year in 89 games Bailey III is hitting .323 with 5 home runs, 37 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
