Ruiz Jr. Put in Cooler, Hitless Against California Monday, May 27th , 2075 Brew City left fielder Julio Ruiz Jr. experienced something against the California Firehawks he hadn't experienced a while: a hitless game. The Firehawks pitching corps quieted his hot bat and snapped his streak at 21 games, but his teammates picked up the slack to lead the Bears to a 5-1 victory at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. "Hey, ain't nothin' bad about a losing a 21-game hitting streak," Ruiz Jr. joked with reporters after the game. "Now you guys will have to find someone else to bother for stories." So far this season, Ruiz Jr. has gotten 31 hits in 116 at-bats for a .267 batting average with 6 home runs. His stats include 28 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has played in 29 games. |
