Minor League PBE's Best Batter Announced Monday, July 1st , 2075 Anchorage fans have something to crow about today as Anchorage second baseman Slime Sluggerton nabbed the Minor League PBE Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Sluggerton. He posted a .611 average (11-for-18) this past week with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. This season, Sluggerton is hitting .246 with 48 hits, 8 home runs, 35 RBIs, scored 18 runs and played in 54 games. |
