Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Rainier
Tuesday, July 23rd , 2075
Win or lose, J.B. Rainier just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Brew City Bears first baseman went 1-for-5, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 9-5, by the Kansas City Hepcats at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." J.B. Rainier struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This season, Rainier is hitting at a .285 pace with 9 home runs, 40 RBIs and has scored 39 times.
