Checo Bangs 3 HR Against Florida Friday, June 11th , 2077 Today was a special one for Enrique Checo of the Anchorage Wheelers as he slammed three home runs in the 6-0 Wheelers win over the Florida Flamingos. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Anchorage first baseman collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 3, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Florida Man Park. Enrique Checo singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off LaLa Dee in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Lilyin Blue in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Pord Larquad [BOT] in the 9th. Currently Checo has 10 home runs and a .278 batting average. |
